Flipped Professional Development
Flipped professional development allows administrators and coaches to share resources ahead of time with the expectation that everyone views or reads them. Once the in-service day arrives, teachers are ready to partake in a conversation or activity based on the information in those shared resources. This also allows for affinity groups to form based on shared interests in the resources. Last year, we shared documents, sites and videos with our teachers at the each day for ten days as part of a “Differentiation Decathlon”. This helped us better structure an in-service day whereby teachers explored and learned more about differentiation in the classroom. Those resources now live in a Google folder and have been shared with our new teachers as part of our mentoring program.
